Another huge weekend on week 3 of state championships for our Binar teams.
This weekend it was under 11s , 17s1 , 17s2 and 19s boys.
Under 11s The boys battled as a very young side and played some competitive games to finish up 1 win , 1 draw and 2 losses.
Under 17s/3 A talented group of boys with a lot of raw talent. They had a successful tournament with 4 wins and just 1 loss by 2 points being enough to not make finals. The team they lost to went on to win the championship after qualifying top of our pool.
Under 17s/2 This team was very impressive playing in a tough pool there were no easy games. It came down to the last grading game having to win it to make the semis and they had a strong win. They won their semi final against an undefeated Lakeside team but fell short in the Grand final after a gutsy performance against a very strong Geraldton Buccs team that included an NBL1 player and a lot of state players.
Under 19s boys The boys got off to a rocky start when they lost the opening game of the tournament. To their credit they fought hard to win enough games to qualify and then go on to win their semi and then grand final to be our only team to go all the way and win state championships this year. It was a great effort with only getting the opportunity for 1 training session and having a number of our key players missing.
A big thank you to our amazing coaches who put in a lot of effort over the weekend and weeks leading up to it. Troy Kelly Tahlia Kelly Matthew Dtmb and Nigel Adonis .
